Did Molly Hurwitz pay tribute to Matthew Perry and recall watching ‘Friends’ with him?

Matthew Perry’s former fiancée, Molly Hurwitz, took to social media to pay tribute to the late Friends actor and recalled their shared love for the iconic television series.

In November 2020, Perry announced his engagement to Hollywood literary agent Molly Hurwitz after dating for two years. Unfortunately, their engagement was called off in June of the following year.

Following the sudden death of Matthew Perry at the age of 54, Molly Hurwitz expressed her grief on Monday (October 30) through a heartfelt post on Instagram.

Molly shared a captivating photo of Matthew in silhouette, overlooking a city during winter. She began her tribute by addressing his talent: “He would love that the world is talking about how talented he was. And he really was very talented.”

Recalling their time together, Molly reminisced about rewatching Friends in preparation for the show’s highly-anticipated reunion. “As the Friends reunion was approaching, we rewatched the show together. ‘F-ck, I was so good!!!…See what I did there???'” she wrote, hinting at the memorable catchphrase from the series. “We rewound and studied scenes. Our respect and appreciation for humor is something that connected us. Being with him as he rediscovered his brilliance was magical.”

However, Molly acknowledged the complexities of their relationship and the pain that came with it. “But, I obviously knew that man in a very different way, too. While I loved him deeper than I could comprehend, he was complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known. No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry,” she confessed. “I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship.”

Recognizing the significance of seeking help in challenging times, Molly encouraged others in similar situations to find support, recommending AI Anon as a resource.

Ending her message with a sense of relief for Perry’s newfound peace, Molly signed off as “Moll-o-Rama(…fication).”

Matthew Perry’s Friends co-stars issued a joint statement about his passing, expressing their grief and sharing their memories of him.
