How did Charity Lawson address Artem Chigvintsev’s absence from ‘Dancing With the Stars’ due to COVID?

Have you been keeping up with the latest season of Dancing With the Stars? If so, you may have heard the recent news that partner Artem Chigvintsev will be unable to compete in Tuesday’s episode due to testing positive for COVID-19. But fear not, as Charity Lawson, the former lead of The Bachelorette, is staying positive and addressing the situation with optimism.

Lawson took to social media on Tuesday to share her thoughts on Chigvintsev’s health setback. In a post on her Instagram Stories, she expressed gratitude for her partner’s support and excitement for her new dance partner, Ezra Sosa. Sosa, who has previously been part of the show’s dance troupe, will be making his debut as a dance pro on this week’s episode.

“What a week it’s been, but @theartemc has been the best through it all,” Lawson wrote. “I’m so grateful for @ezra.sosa and SO EXCITED to dance with him. Don’t forget to VOTE for me please, please, please.” She assured her fans, “I promise to do everyone proud!”

Sosa also shared his thoughts on the situation, acknowledging the challenge his partner is facing. “As [excited] as I am for this opportunity, I know the situation is a tough one for my partner,” Sosa wrote. “Gonna be there with you every step of the way Charity and gonna do my best to make Artem proud!!!”

Chigvintsev himself announced his diagnosis on social media earlier that day, reassuring fans that Lawson would still be performing and praising her new partner. “They’re doing an incredible job and working really really hard,” he said.

Last week, Lawson and Chigvintsev made quite the impression during the season premiere, earning the top score of 22 out of 30 points. With judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli, and host Alfonso Ribeiro, this season promises to be full of talent and excitement. Other contestants who impressed the judges during the premiere include Ariana Madix, Jason Mraz, Lele Pons, Adrian Peterson, and Xochitl Gomez.

In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lawson discussed her plans for the season and shared her excitement about moving in with her fiancé, Dotun Olubeko, to support her throughout the Dancing With the Stars journey. “I’m grateful that he’ll be out here supporting me, and we’ll be together,” she said.

It’s clear that Lawson is not letting Chigvintsev’s absence dampen her spirits. She is ready to give it her all on the dance floor and make her partner proud. So don’t forget to tune in, vote for Charity, and show your support for her during this challenging time.
