In a post on her Instagram Stories, she expressed gratitude for her partner’s support and excitement for her new dance partner, Ezra Sosa. Sosa, who has previously been part of the show’s dance troupe, will be making his debut as a dance pro on this week’s episode.
“What a week it’s been, but @theartemc has been the best through it all,” Lawson wrote. “I’m so grateful for @ezra.sosa and SO EXCITED to dance with him. Don’t forget to VOTE for me please, please, please.” She assured her fans, “I promise to do everyone proud!”
Sosa also shared his thoughts on the situation, acknowledging the challenge his partner is facing. “As [excited] as I am for this opportunity, I know the situation is a tough one for my partner,” Sosa wrote. “Gonna be there with you every step of the way Charity and gonna do my best to make Artem proud!!!”
Chigvintsev himself announced his diagnosis on social media earlier that day, reassuring fans that Lawson would still be performing and praising her new partner. “They’re doing an incredible job and working really really hard,” he said.
Last week, Lawson and Chigvintsev made quite the impression during the season premiere, earning the top score of 22 out of 30 points.
