Did Joe Russo make a ‘box office’ remark towards Martin Scorsese?

Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo took a playful box office jab at Martin Scorsese in a recent viral TikTok video.

Martin Scorsese has been branching out into social media following the release of Killers of the Flower Moon. The legendary director made a short TikTok video training a muse he could take to the “next level”, which is revealed to be his dog, Oscar. Joe Russo then replied to that video with one of his own, revealing his dog named “Box Office”, which is meant to reference the unrivaled performance of Avengers: Endgame in theaters.

Both videos are clearly meant to be good fun. However, it seems fans on both sides of the aisle have been attacking either Joe Russo or Martin Scorsese for the harmless video. Even Variety is highlighting the drama! At the end of the day, the videos only prove one thing that fans need to remember: making movies, just like owning dogs, is about love.

The future of the Avengers franchise

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is the first movie in a two-part finale to Marvel’s Multiverse Saga. It will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars, rounding out Marvel Studios’ Phase 6. Both films are scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2025.

Destin Daniel Cretton is set to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, with Jeff Loveness attached to write. Michael Waldron will write Avengers: Secret Wars, though there is no director attached to the project.

With the expansive Multiverse Saga and its star-studded cast at the helm, Marvel fans are undoubtedly on edge for the next two Avengers movies. Regardless of how fans interpret Robert Downey Jr.’s comments, one thing is certain: Marvel Studios has a grand vision in mind.
