Well folks, it’s that time of year again! After 12 months of new music, albums, and rising artists, the 2024 Grammy Awards nominations are finally here. It’s like Christmas morning for music lovers!
The nominees will be revealed on Friday at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT, and you can catch all the action on the Grammys website and YouTube page. Set your alarms, grab your favorite snack, and get ready to see who made the cut.
Joining Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. to announce the nominees are a star-studded lineup including Arooj Aftab, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Jimmy Jam, Jon Bon Jovi, Samara Joy, Muni Long, Cheryl Pawelski, Kim Petras, Judith Sherman, St. Vincent, Jeff Tweedy, and the one and only “Weird Al” Yankovic. Plus, CBS Mornings co-hosts Gayle King, Nate Burleson, and Tony Dokoupil will be on hand to add their own unique flair to the event.
You can expect to hear the nominees in the general field and select categories during the livestream. But don’t worry if your favorite category isn’t announced right away – videos unveiling the nominees in the remaining categories will be posted on the Grammys website and YouTube for your viewing pleasure.
The 66th Grammys will feature a whopping 94 categories, including the top prizes for album of the year, record of the year, song of the year, and best new artist. But wait, there’s more! This year, they’ve added three new categories: best African music performance, best alternative jazz album, and best pop dance recording. It’s like the Grammy Awards are giving out free samples of new and exciting music genres – count us in!
