In a tragic turn of events, Tracy Cole, the great-nephew of legendary musician Nat King Cole, was fatally stabbed in Atlanta, Georgia. The 31-year-old was attacked on Thursday, September 14 in the early morning and succumbed to his injuries at a hospital, according to reports from Fox 5 Atlanta.
Apart from being related to the renowned music icon, Tracy was an active member of the local cigar community, which expressed deep sorrow at his loss on social media. Atlanta Cigar Week took to Instagram to extend their heartfelt condolences and share their grief over the death of “such a vibrant soul.” They arranged a moment of silence to honor him.
As of now, authorities are still investigating the incident. Tracy’s uncle, Lionel Cole, spoke to WSB-TV, urging anyone with information about the attack to come forward.
