What mundane tasks would Tom Hanks willingly do in outer space?

Tom Hanks, one of Hollywood’s most beloved actors, recently expressed his desire to visit outer space. While promoting his new film, “The Moonwalkers: A Journey with Tom Hanks,” in London, the 67-year-old actor made it clear that he would go to great lengths for a chance to explore the cosmos.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Hanks said, “I would like to be the guy in charge of serving food and making jokes to and from the moon. If there was room, I would be the guy that cleans up, makes jokes, tells stories, and keeps everybody entertained. That might be a good idea, I’ll do all the work. I’ll clean the toilet. I’ll serve the food. I’ll fold clothes. I’ll stow the gear. That way the others could be free to do other stuff.”

Hanks’ fascination with outer space should come as no surprise, as he has been involved in space-themed projects in the past. He starred in the 1995 film “Apollo 13,” which depicted the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission, and he also produced and hosted the HBO mini-series “From the Earth to the Moon” in 1998.

When asked about the prospect of a real-life mission to the Moon, Hanks enthusiastically declared, “I’m your man. I would probably sign up right now!” It’s clear that his love for space exploration extends beyond the silver screen.

This isn’t the first time Hanks has made headlines with his candid remarks. In June, he reflected on his career and revealed which of his movies he loves and hates. It seems that Hanks is never one to shy away from sharing his thoughts and opinions.

It’s refreshing to see a Hollywood icon like Tom Hanks, who is known for his down-to-earth persona, express his desire to venture beyond our planet. Whether it’s serving food, cleaning toilets, or simply entertaining his fellow astronauts, Hanks is willing to do whatever it takes to make a trip to outer space a reality. Who knows, maybe we’ll see him donning a spacesuit in the not-too-distant future.
