Is Lou Doillon starring in a quirky Italian comedy produced by Nanni Moretti?

Lou Doillon, daughter of Jane Birkin, is set to star in the upcoming Italian comedy film “Quasi a casa”. The film is directed by Carolina Pavone, who has previously worked as an assistant director on several films by Nanni Moretti.

The sophisticated comedy is currently being filmed in Rome and follows Doillon’s character, an eclectic and successful singer, as she forms a tumultuous friendship with a younger musician who idolizes her.

Doillon has made a name for herself as a model, actor, and singer-songwriter, much like her half-sister Charlotte Gainsbourg. She became a fashion icon in her teens after working with Givenchy and is currently the ambassador for Cartier’s new Baignoire watchmaking collection.

This isn’t Doillon’s first foray into Italian cinema. She previously appeared in Abel Ferrara’s “Go Go Tales” and more recently in French director Maïween’s “Polisse” and “A Child of Yours” directed by her father, Jacques Doillon.

Carolina Pavone, the director of “Quasi a casa”, has previously worked with Nanni Moretti on films such as “My Mother” and “Three Floors”. She also served as an assistant director on Moretti’s latest work, “A Brighter Tomorrow”, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and performed well at the Italian box office.

The rest of the cast includes Maria Chiara Arrighini, Stefano Abbati, and Michele Eburnea. Nanni Moretti, known for his support of young Italian talents, is co-producing the film through his production company Sacher Films, alongside Vivo Film and RAI Cinema.

Vivo Film is responsible for producing recent works by Italian directors Susanna Nicchiarelli, Laura Bispuri, and Andrea de Sica.

Nanni Moretti took to Instagram to announce the start of principal photography for “Quasi a casa”. Fans of Lou Doillon and Italian cinema can look forward to this quirky comedy hitting the screens soon.
