Vincent D’Onofrio spills Kingpin state after ‘Echo’ finale: mysterious and thrilling!

Vincent D'Onofrio discusses Wilson Fisk's transformation after Echo's finale in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Find out what it means for Kingpin's future in the MCU and the upcoming Daredevil series on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for more updates!

Is Wilson Fisk a changed man? Vincent D’Onofrio speaks on what happened to Kingpin after the season finale of Echo.

Echo saw Vincent D’Onofrio’s grand return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel’s newest Disney Plus series once more saw Kingpin defeated at the hands of Maya Lopez, though this time he was taken down through being forced to confront his past. When asked if this experience left Wilson Fisk a changed man, D’Onofrio admitted that he isn’t different, simply enlightened.

“No, I don’t think that,” D’Onofrio tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I want to do the right thing here and say something that is true, but not too revealing. I don’t think he’s changed; I think he’s enlightened.

“I haven’t seen a lot of the episodes of Echo. So, in my mind, after everything goes down with Maya, he gets on a plane, and the news is playing on the plane. It says, ‘New York is going to be looking for a new mayor soon,’ and as he’s watching it, a light bulb goes on. So, by the end of that flight, he decides, ‘If I want to be all-powerful, this is what I’m going to do.’ That’s the most I can tell you.”

Vincent D’Onofrio’s comments certainly paint an interesting picture of Kingpin’s future in the MCU. It seems all but confirmed that Wilson Fisk will be gunning for the position of mayor after Echo’s season finale, likely meaning Maya Lopez will have to unite with other street-level heroes to take him down once and for all.

What to expect from the new Daredevil series

Marvel Studios recently scrapped the entire creative team for Daredevil: Born Again due to internal criticism. The previous incarnation of the show focused mainly on the legal aspects of Matt Murdock, with the hero not suiting up until episode 4. The series is expected to go through a complete creative rework to focus more on action and violence, just like the Netflix version.

Little is known of Daredevil: Born Again, with plot details being kept under wraps. Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, Sandrine Holt, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Nikki M. James, and Michael Gaston are set to appear in the series opposite Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, a.k.a Kingpin.

Daredevil: Born Again currently has no release date for Disney Plus. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
