ScarJo hopes for a “miracle” to resurrect Black Widow in the MCU!

Scarlett Johansson on Black Widow: “It Would be a “Miracle” to Bring Her Back to the MCU”

Have you ever wondered if Scarlett Johansson would bring back Black Widow? Well, the actress recently appeared on the Today show to promote her skincare line and discuss her upcoming film, Tower of Terror. But, of course, the topic of her potential return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe couldn’t be avoided.

For those who watched Avengers: Endgame, you’ll remember that Johansson’s character, Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, made the ultimate sacrifice to get the Soul Stone from Thanos and save the life of Hawkeye. When asked about the possibility of returning to the MCU despite her character’s death, Johansson responded in classic Scarlett Johansson fashion, “Like a loophole? I feel like that’s kind of the end, right? Like can you come back? Could it be a vampire version of the character? Cause I’m here for that, like a zombie version, maybe.”

As if that wasn’t cryptic enough, she avoided answering whether she had been approached to reprise her character, leaving us all in suspense. And when prompted further, she teasingly said, “You really ask the hard questions. I feel like I have to tell you, but I actually don’t have to tell you, Al. I do not, but I want to so bad,” before smoothly redirecting the conversation to her upcoming Disney movie.

In a separate conversation with Savannah Guthrie, Johansson joked that it would be “a real Marvel miracle” if her character returned somehow. “It would be a marvel, but who knows? I’m not sure.” I mean, if anyone could bring a character back from the dead, it would be Marvel, right?

These coy comments come after Tom Hiddleston’s appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he hinted at the possibility of MCU character returns. When asked about the potential for his god’s newfound ability to visit any point in history leading to cameos from deceased characters, Hiddleston responded, “I mean … time-slipping technically gives Loki some interesting moves he can make. Speaking for myself, Loki’s died a few times. I’m still here. I don’t know that death is necessarily … I mean death is — death is up for grabs, as an existential question! That’s all I can give you!”

So, what does this all mean? Are we going to see Black Widow make a miraculous return to the MCU? Only time will tell. But for now, we can relive her epic moments in the existing films and hold onto hope for a vampire or zombie version of the character. After all, as Scarlett Johansson said, “I’m here for that!”
