Chelsea Handler surprises at Critics Choice, invites Gerwig and Robbie for Barbie speech.

After hosting the Critics Choice Awards, Chelsea Handler "went rogue" to give Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie a chance to accept an award for their film "Barbie". The night was filled with surprises, as "Barbie" continued to win accolades and Handler left us hanging with a promise of more to come.

After hosting the Critics Choice Awards, Chelsea Handler decided to spice things up and “go rogue” by inviting Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie to the stage. Why? Because their film “Barbie” had been raking in the awards all evening, and Handler wasn’t about to let the accolades go unnoticed during commercial breaks.

“I’m gonna go rogue because Greta and Margot deserve the opportunity to make an acceptance speech,” Handler declared. “Would you mind coming up and accepting the award?” And just like that, Gerwig and Robbie scrambled to the stage, looking as surprised as a kid in a candy store.

Robbie took the mic, expressing gratitude to Handler for the unexpected opportunity. “You know, when everyone is like ‘Oh, this is so unexpected. This is actually unexpected and was not a part of the show,’” she joked. Then, she graciously passed the spotlight to Gerwig, who thanked the cast, crew, and even gave a shoutout to Mattel for letting them run wild with their beloved icon.

As the night wore on, “Barbie” continued to win accolades left and right, from best original screenplay to best production design. The film had amassed a total of 18 nominations (yes, you read that right), and it wasn’t slowing down. Even America Ferrera, one of the supporting actresses, received the Critics Choice SeeHer Award for her outstanding career. And let’s not forget her powerful speech that tugged at all our heartstrings.

And just when you thought the night couldn’t get any more unpredictable, Handler dropped a “More to come…” bombshell, leaving us all hanging in suspense. What more could possibly happen after this rollercoaster of an evening? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: Chelsea Handler knows how to keep us on the edge of our seats.
