Will ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 release earlier than Dave Filoni’s ‘Star Wars’ movie?

After the release of Ahsoka, many fans were eagerly awaiting Dave Filoni’s next move, assuming it would be his upcoming Star Wars film. However, a recent report suggests that Filoni might stay on Disney Plus for a little longer.

Season 1 of Ahsoka left fans with more questions than answers, in true Dave Filoni fashion. While many believed it would be a perfect setup for his Star Wars film, which is set to conclude the current era of Disney Plus stories, Deadline’s report indicates that a second season of Ahsoka might be released first:

“Some fans have speculated that Dave Filoni’s stand-alone feature film…centers around Thrawn, and that is poised to be next,” Deadline writes. “However, we hear that Ahsoka Season 2 is more of a reality in the conversation, though nothing is locked yet.”

Exciting news for Star Wars fans, as they will be thrilled to hear that a second season of Ahsoka is in the works. Season 1 received great acclaim and was one of the best-received Disney Plus content since Andor. It is likely that season 2 will provide answers to many of the lingering questions while also serving as a setup for Dave Filoni’s upcoming Star Wars film, potentially being developed simultaneously.

The Ahsoka Tano series is currently being developed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. Filoni, who co-created Ahsoka with George Lucas, introduced the beloved character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series.

The cast of the Ahsoka Tano series includes Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, also known as Darth Vader. Ivanna Sakhno and Ray Stevenson complete the ensemble.

For those who can’t wait to delve into more Ahsoka adventures, the first season of Ahsoka is currently streaming on Disney Plus.
