The film’s distributor, The Avenue, shared a statement from director William Eubank, in which he described “Land of Bad” as a movie about friendship and brotherhood. He emphasized the camaraderie among the core characters and how it transcended the page to become a key value of the country in which they filmed.
Eubank and his writing partner, David Frigerio, drew inspiration from classic action movies, but they wanted to use this film as an opportunity to showcase the evolution of technology and the nature of combat. They aimed to explore the themes of war and the barbaric nature of it, especially in today’s modern warfare.
